Ceylon black tea

Ceylon Black Tea is named after the region it comes from, or in this case came from. Tea production is one of the main sources of foreign exchange for Sri Lanka (formerly called Ceylon) because the region is known for some of the finest tea in the world.

Ceylon is very versatile since it is grown on several estates which vary in altitude and taste. High-grown tea is a light golden color and is considered to be among the best teas in terms of its distinct flavor, aroma and strength. In comparison, low-grown teas are a burgundy color and stronger. Mid-grown teas are strong, rich and full-bodied.

Distinguishing itself as the “Best in Class” producer of tea, with a history of tea heritage, Sri Lanka stands out among other tea producers. In regards to Ceylon, the emphasis is placed on the quality of tea, which is determined by complex characteristics, the correct balance of these is the embodiment of the tea’s character.
