White tea is a lightly oxidized tea which has been primarily grown and harvested in the Fujian province of China. Although, currently, white is also being grown in Eastern Nepal, Taiwan, Northern Thailand, Galle (Southern Sri Lanka) and India.
White tea receives its name from the fine silvery-white hairs that form the unopened buds of the tea plant, giving it a white appearance.
Yellow tea usually refers to a special tea processed in a similar manner to green tea, however, with a slower drying time, where the damp tea leaves are allowed to sit and yellow. This gives the leaves a very yellow-green appearance and an aroma which is different from both white and green tea.
